MySpace TakeDown Process

step-by-step guide

MySpace was big once. It was the site to be on, before Facebook came along. It allows you to have a profile, upload images, but seems very much more based around music sharing these days. So much so, that the DMCA form they have on the site is partially obscured by the music player app at the base of the page. It is difficult to know if there is a submit button, or not. What is recommended is to use the supplied email address and either send your own DMCA letter via email or to use the Email Builder on this site. The requirements are standard, so it’s probably best to use the email form builder, which can be found here!. The takedown details can be found here! If you simply want to instigate an email directly, click here!

The form in itself is brief and simple. You add your personal details, add the links to the infringement, and then describe what the infringement in the box below. You could have two paragraphs here. One for the infringement and one describing your original work. Then do the digital signature, and (curious to know) ‘Submit‘ the form. The ‘Submit‘ button is hiding under the player, so is impossible to reach. I don’t know if clicking on the page and then pressing return will activate it. Therefore if it doesn’t, use the email address. That’s all! The only hard bit is hitting that Submit button. Good Luck.
